Primary Literacy Programme - Reading & Writing @e-Learning
(PLP-R/W@e-Learning)

With the development of IT, Po Leung Kuk Tin Ka Ping Millennium Primary School (TKPM) is seeing a trend in e-learning based on iPad that may see the emergence of a new style of learning and teaching that complements and extends the Primary Literacy Programme-Reading & Writing (PLP-R/W) programme of Native-speaking English Teacher Section, Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The idea "PLP-R/W@e-Learning" is well-accepted by the Education Bureau of HKSAR and has been selected to be one of the pilot projects of the "Pilot Scheme on e-Learning in Schools" funded by the Education Bureau of HKSAR in 2011.

In the PLP-R/W@e-Learning project, an interactive iBooks Online Reading Platform that incorporates full net-learning capabilities including resource sharing and updates, learning and reading apps is developed. We hope to capitalize on this new trend in technology, and work in line with the latest government policies regarding PLP-R/W and e-learning.

Functions of interactive iBooks:
•Contents are read throughout the books.
•Repetition of the content words are allowed.
•Records of reading and book reports are kept.
•Post-reading exercises are available for each e-book (Small books only).
•Letter sounds and the words related are demonstrated.

This application is a bookshelf. Anyone interested in this project can install this app and download all e-books using "Public Access".

**Since it is a pilot project, only students of Po Leung Kuk Tin Ka Ping Millennium Primary School can have post-reading exercises will be graded with answers.
